Cross Creek Mall will get a multimillion-dollar facelift this year to improve the appearance of the 37-year-old shopping center. CBL & Associates Properties Inc., owner and manager of the mall, announced the renovations Thursday, saying construction should be completed by year's end. The mall entrances will be redesigned, and the interior will be redecorated and repainted. Plans call for renovating the bathrooms and redesigning the landscaping, as well as updating the food court with new tables and chairs.
Exact plans are still being considered, and mall officials plan to unveil an artist's rendering of the redesign in May, he said. Construction is slated to begin in June and be completed by the end of the year. The mall, which opened in February 1975, is more than 1 million square feet and includes more than 150 stores and restaurants.
