Dollar Tree to open new store in Cape Fear Plaza Shopping Center
A new Dollar Tree store will open in a space once partially occupied by the Roses Discount Store in Cape Fear Plaza Shopping Center on Eastern Boulevard, according to building plans filed with the city. The Roses closed in the fall, leaving a 54,000-square-foot space empty near one end of the shopping center. A Food Lion anchors the other wing. The Dollar Tree will take up about 10,000 square feet, according to Walt Reddick, vice president and project manager for Sexton Construction Co.
The builder is doing the work on the project. That leaves 30,420 square feet of tenant space, according to the building plans. Total cost of construction work is about $942,000, according to paperwork filed with the city. Sexton Construction is in the process of a facade renovation to the plaza, which opened about 27 years ago.
